Christmas cards

We made these cards at class.  A Child is Born...Christ the Lord.  The middle card was cut from the Artistry "Joy to the World"    and the last card is the famous tree folding card.  You can find the video with directions on the right side on the videos.  To make a great looking tree, cut your squares using Art Philosophy scalloped squares.

Tea pot

I made this tea pot using the NEW Artistry Cricut cartridge.  The lid was cut off,  watercolored and stamped. I discovered that if you use your alcohol markers, you can watercolor over top and it stays put.  I inked up my embossing folder on one side and ran the front of the tea pot through. That gave it a great look.  The rose was cut from Artiste and the tag and leaves were cut from Art Philosophy. I hinged the lid and glued another tea pot to the back leaving a pocket for the tea bag.  Oh, one last thing.....I watercolored the rose before I rolled it, beautiful results.

Nov blog hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars Blog Hop.

Enjoy the hop and the wonderful ideas that we have to share We hope to inspire you.

This month I would like to share with you a Pop Out card for Thanksgiving. This is  my favorite new card technique.  You start with a 8"x5 1/2" piece of cardstock and score it at 2", 3" 5" 6"  Fold it so the center pops out. On the back side you glue a shape only on the left of the fold, that helps it stand up.  Add B and T strips to the front 2 panels and a sentiment in the middle.

This wreath was made using the NEW Cricut cartidge  "Artistry" I cut it out at 3" and water colored the leaves and acorns.
Sangria paper was used for the side panels and they were cut at 5 1/4" x 1 3/4".

The wreath and the words So Thankful , Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving are from the Harvest Wreath  stamp set D1662 .  The wreath was stamped with flaxen, and then sponge dauber parts of the wreath in poppy and fern before it was stamped.
The acorn, tag and the leaf was cut from Artistry all from the acorn key.

This is the back of the card, you only glue the shape to the left side and your card will stand up. Check  out the watercolor technique  called Ombre'  on the tag.   The leaf  was also water colored with  fundamental paper overlay.  Contact me to show you how to do this technique.

Now hop over to my dear friend, Krista's blog, I'm sure you will love what she created.

Artistry card

This is one of the first cuts I made using the new Artistry Cricut cartridge.
This cartridge has a lot of background cut that work well to put on a card.
I cut this a 4"  and gives room for a sentiment at the top or on the bottom.   I would love to see that card done with fall leaves.
