Cauliflower soup

We had a delightful, relaxing day at our Annual Spring Fling (card making day)  We changed the menu and instead of tried and true taco soup I decided to make the soup the my daughter made for me on Mother's day.  I think it was a hit and here is the recipe.
Watch for the Ham & Cheese sticky bun recipe.

Cauliflower Soup

1  med cauliflower
1  med carrot
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 1/2 cup water
2 tsp chicken or veg bouillon
3 T. butter
3 T flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 cup 2% milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In a large pot combine cauliflower, chopped carrots and celery, water and bouillon. Bring to boil and reduce heat and cover. Simmer 12-15 min.

In another pot melt butter, stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and bring to a boil over med. heat. Cook and stir 2 min or until thick. Reduce heat, stir in cheese and cauliflower mixture.  Serves 8 Makes about 2 qts.

May Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Joyful Stars Blog Hop!  We have a lot to share with you, so enjoy the hop and come back again next month and see what we are making.

I choose to make Mother's day cards for my Mom and my mother-in-law.  I also like to make cards for my daughter-in-laws and my friends who are mothers.  Who doesn't like to get a card?

The stamp set that I am using is called Mother's day C1577, this set would also be good for birthday,  red hats or just a Hello card.

I cut the card with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. The shape is found on page 37, using the card button @ 5 1/2" and the top shape was cut @ 5" using Decorative layer. The roses and the leaves were cut from any of the cartridges, they all feature spiral flowers and leaves.

I backed the opening of the hearts with background texture paper,

Sooner or later we all quote our mothers, that is so true, when it comes out of your mouth for the first time, you say, "did I really say that?" Here you can see the inside of the card.

Next person to hop to is the very talented Krista, I'm sure you'll love what you see. Thank you for stopping by.

Here is a list of our talented Close to My Heart Consultants, if you get lost come back here to find your way.
