SOM blog hop

Welcome to the monthly blog hop. This month is featuring "Seasonal Trees"  You can get this for only $5 with a $50 order.

I choose winter for my card, I'm sure you will see all seasons as you hop along this great hop.
For this card I stamped the winter tree in Carolina, first and second generation.  I other words I stamped the trees twice to give different shades.  I ripped white daisy paper and sponged the edges with Carolina blue ink, then I went over the edges with the clear shimmer brush Z3293. The small heart was cut with the stitched hearts (Z4182) and the thin cut decorative borders (Z4241) 1/4 " strip.

The words are from the October special "Love with all the trimmings CC10188"  great stamp set and it's not to late to get this, but hurry you have a 5 day grace period or while supplies last.

I hope this has inspired you to make Christmas cards.

Now it's time to hop to Brenda'sblog and see what she has created.

October Blog hop

Welcome to our Monthly Blog Hop.  Every month we show what we are creating using Close To My Heart products.  We hope to inspire you, so you can recreate what we show you.  Look for the highlighted name at the bottom of each post and click on it and it will take you to another blog, follow that until you get back here and you did the loop.  Enjoy!!

This is what I have been working on........Never ending card. These cards are fun and you can't stop playing with them.  The card opens up to reveal the next image and so forth until you get back to the beginning. Almost like this blog.   You start with  2  6x6" pcs of paper and you score them at 1 1/2" on the left and right side. Then cut them in half, cutting through the score lines. Place the first 2pcs  side by side with the score lines going horizonal. Place the other 2 pcs directly on top with the score lines going vertical. Glue them together just at the corners. If you look at the first side below, the glue with be under the spots where the pine cone paper is.  Just on those four corners only.  Then you just start adding your decorative pieces.  I used the picture my life paper that comes in the "Tis the Season" paper pack. You get 2 sheets of this paper, so you can make 2 cards.  The only other paper I used is a small amount of red and some pine cone paper. (Side #1 & Side #4)

To see a video on the neverending card go to Joyce Houck Close to My Heart Facebook group and ask to join.

side 3
This side is using the zip strips and the black is from the bottom of the stocking.

side 4

I made this shaker card using Grateful cardmaking C1727 page 50
Watercolor pencils, pomegranate ink, border thin cuts and shaker window and dies and gold sequins.

Now it's time to hop over to Andrea's blog to see what she is sharing.

September Joyful Stars Blog hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars blog hop, this is a monthly hop.  We created this hop to share creations that we think you might get inspired about.  Look for the highlighted name at the bottom of  each post and click on it to hop to the next post.

This month is going to knock your socks off, we have all new items from our NEW Holiday Idea book.  This idea book can be yours for free, just by placing an order on your CTMH consultants webite site.

It was so hard to pick what I wanted to share.   There are so many new things. Well I got to start somewhere.  So....., I picked the 3-D
items from the NEW Season of Joy digital Cricut cartridge.  Santa and his elves were fun to make. These can be made any size and when you pop off the head, you can put candy or money inside.
I don't have the heads glue on and they stay together.

Below is the village with Santa and his helpers.  There are 5 houses all together.  The Cricut scores the paper so you know just where to fold them. I glued the outside pieces with the glue pen and the inside edges with red line 2way tape.
There is much more to this cartridge, get yours today!

Now it's time to hop to Andrea's blog and be amazed at what she has to share. She has been waiting for Sept to share.

August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars August Blog hop.

I saw this sign at Convention and I just had to make it.  It's using our wonderful Cricut cartridges.
I used "You are Hear and Flower Market to make this sign.  I measures approx 6x11.  I have the Design Space File to make the sign.  https://design.cricut.com/#/landing/user-project/102655264

It will look great on my front door.  I set up the file so I could get 2 cuts on one sheet.  You can make it smaller or larger if you want. The sunflowers are also in that file.  I cut the black twice to give the sign more body.  The background was cut with a woodgrain pattern paper.  I also cut a thin pc. of cardboard to make it sturdy. I added a butterfly using something new that's coming next month.

Hope your enjoying the summer.  Now it's time to hop to Andrea's blog and see what she has created.

June Blog hop

Welcome to the Monthly Joyful Stars blog.  We have some great projects to share and hope to inspire you to try these out.   Simply hop from blog to blog by hitting the highlighted name at the bottom of each post.  Go all the way around until you get back to here.

This month I would like to share with you something fun, messy and amazing.  I saw this on one of my sites and just had to try it.
I will be calling it string art.

I will try to explain it without a video, just pictures.  If you need more info just contact me and I can talk you through it.

String Art Directions
What you need to get started is a piece of string, reinkers, 2 pcs of cardstock and a book or notebook.
PS.  Rubber gloves are a must.

Here are some samples of what you can make, the possibilities are endless by changing colors and arranging the string different ways.  You can actually ink up the string with different colors.

  1. Take a small lid and put string in it.  I used about 20 inches, ink up the string with re-inker.  You want the string saturated, but not dripping wet.  I usually leave a tail about 6" without ink.
  2. Get a notebook or book, that you don't care about.  Place a piece of cardstock unto the page with small pc of tape runner, place another pc of cardstock on top of the first pc and put a small pc of tape runner on top of that. Close the book. When you open the book, you should have a pc of cs on the left and one on the right of the book.
  3. Take you wet string and swirl it on the cardstock  with the tail hanging out of the book. Close the book.
  4. Put pressure on the book and pull the tail out of the book, quickly.  Peek inside and see what you created.  You will have 2 pcs of artwork.
  5. Different affects can be obtained by the string, ink colors and the way the string is swirled.
  6. So......be prepared to make more than just 2.....it is so much fun.

Finished project
Crystal blue ink, Ribbon from enchantment, fundamental paper from Whimsy, white dots from Black and White dots. Ribbon and dots on sale this month only. Circle from in Thin cuts stitched circles.
Sentiments from Short and Sweet  A1189
