This month I will be showing you a card that we are making on Saturday at our Annual Christmas card/crop Extravaganza.  Check back for the rest of the cards from that day.  

I used cranberry and N England Ivy for the base.  The mailbox was cut from the NEW Cricut City Sidewalks Digital Collection.  Z4017  It has 30 images.  

 Perfectly Pine A119 was used for the pine spring and words are from Very Merry D1694.  I used black and brown marker for the post and inside of the mailbox.

August Joyful Stars blog hop

Welcome to Joyful Stars August blog hop. Your in for a treat! 
You will get a look at some new products and probably some 
products that are about to retire at the end of this month. 

I would like to share with you lots of artwork.  I just couldn't decide.  The first one is a layout that I made for my Layout class that meets once a month.  I used the Magical paper and the Cricut.
Summer days is from the NEW Flower Market Close to my Heart Cricut collection.  The Ferris Wheel is from Artiste cartridge which will be retiring.  The stamp set is called Amusement park. You can't see it in the picture but I used Z3293 Shimmer brush on the top of the coaster.  

 The cards below are made with the New Flower Market Cricut cartridge Z3285.
New papers, new cuts and new stamps.

The card was cut at 5 1/2" and the center of the flower was stamped with the new background stamp.  The leaves should be stamped with another background stamp.  I will do that tonight with my class.  

The stamp set used here is from the stamps that come with the Cricut cartridge

July Joyful Stars blog hop

My post for this month is what I made for my team that went to convention in Florida, Disney.

 With the french fry pattern from Art Philosophy, I made Mickey mouse pants to hold snacks.  Buttons and suspenders were added.  I used Design studio to make everything the right size and length.  Glitter was added to the buttons.

On the photo above I added a bookmark and a laminated name tag that Krista made for me. The bookmark, name tag and gift bag  was made using Magical paper X7209B  soon to be retired.

Double pleated card

Today we made a double pleated card, well actually we made 2.  Everyone got real creative and there was no stopping them.  We used La Vie Rose paper that has a black print on one side and a roses on the other.  The directions for this card are as follows:

Start with a 5x10" pc of background texture paper.  Score it on the long side at 1".....1/2" repeat all the way across. So you will have some 1" sections and some 1/2" sections.  Mark the short end at 2" and 3" with a pencil.  At the center 1" section put pencil marks there also, on either side of the score lines.  Make a diagonal cut from the 2" mark to the first mark on the long side. Do the same on the other side starting at the 3" mark.
Turn it to the other side and do the same.  Your paper will taper out from the 1"center to a 1" edge.  Fold accordian style, look at the examples, some are solid on the top and others are open.  There is no right or wrong just place it however you please.  You can even cut it in half and use it on 2 cards.  We mounted the pleated piece on a 4x5 1/4" cardstock.

This month I would like to share with you........................ My Hawaiian Hibiscus card.  B1527 Pg 31 in the Seasonal Expressions.  I used a pop up card fold for this card.  Start with a base of 5 1/2x 8 and score at 2,3, 5,6"
The striped side pieces are 1 3/4x 5 and the circle cut with Art Philosophy at 3 1/4" white and 3 1/2" red.  Red shimmer trim was added top and bottom.  I water colored the center with blue and colored the flowers with markers and water color. 

It's always nice to stamp the envelope to match the card.

May blog hop

Welcome to the May Joyful Stars blog hop.  We just released a NEW Seasonal Expressions and we would like to share some new products and some products from our annual catalog.  So hop from one blog to the next, just look for the link at the bottom of each post and click on it.  

This month I would like to share with you  Carnival fun and carnival fun thin cuts.  This cute set can be found on page 21 of Seasonal Expressions May-August.  This set would make great party invitations or just a fun birthday card.  I made this card with an opening flap.  So you would make a card base and cut another piece 2 1/2" x 6".  I scored the 6" length  1/2" from the end.  That 1/2" pc gets glued onto the back or behind the striped pc of background texture paper.  All the shapes are cut with the thin cuts and stamped with colors you desire.  Liquid glass is fun to use on the snow cone, pretzel, ice cream and the mustard of the corndog.

3-D foam tape can be used to pop some of the shapes.  I hope this gets your imagination racing with all the possibilities.
