March Blog hop

Welcome to the March Joyful Stars blog hop.  Every month we share our latest projects and creations using Close to My Heart products.
We hope we inspire you to stamp and create.

This month I would like to share with you a 2 page layout I created for my scrapbooking class.  The paper was Babycakes with slate gray, buttercup and sunset.  The colors don't show up like they should.  The words were all cut with the Cricut.

I took these pictures before they were embellished, the stars were popped and the tag had a yellow ribbon added to it.  We also added rind stones to each star, if they wanted.

Now hop on over to my friend, a very talented lady, Nancy  and see what she is creating

Remember to check back every month on the 10th to hop,

Cricut club

Here are the projects we made at Cricut club, all cuts were made with the Artiste Cricut cartridge.

The stamp set we used for this tag is called Holiday tags, It's one of my favorite sets because it covers most of the holidays.

The cupids could of been cut using the flip button on your machine. If you are using 2 sided paper this button comes in handy.

This was a very simple card made with bows from Cricut.

This card needs some sparkle. The lesson on this card is to cut the width of the rosettes  down to
1 1/2" to make the circle smaller, while still retaining the size of the scallops.

Above and beyond club

We had the "Above and Beyond club" this week....we always have fun being creative.  We decorated these mini coffee cups using Laughing Lola paper.  I made one using washi tape, great for a favor or a slit can be put in the top and it will hold a gift card.

January blog hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars January 2014 Blog Hop!  I'm so excited to share with everyone and have my team members and friends share with you. This is a continuous blog, so hop from one to next and see all the wonderful ideas they came up with.

With weather so cold now would be a great time to scrapbook, I just got back some layouts from Studio J that I will share in the next couple of posts.  Some of them were done with the "Express" layout options and others were done with the more creative option.  Whichever one you pick, they all come out wonderful.

Some other projects to consider is the gift I received from one of my dear customers, Sybilla. She took our cubby box (which is retiring so hurry and order some this month before they are gone) painted it and covered it with background paper and removed some of the shelves.  I love it and will cherish it.

Another gift I got from our unit Christmas party was a wreath made by Stacey, all the rosettes were cut from the CTMH Criciut cartridge, even the Merry Christmas.  The wood piece was actually stamped with our woodgrain stamp.  Thank you Stacey, nice gift.  Now I need one for Valentine's or even before that, how about one with snowflakes.
Now hop over to Crystal's.  blog, she has been busy creating over Christmas break.

Dec Blog hop

Welcome to our Joyful Stars December Blog Hop!

As we prepare for the Holiday season,

there are so many ways we can use the gifts God has given us. We can decorate the

tree,( see my cat loving the outdoors coming inside) make greetings for your family and

friends. We can prepare food, make favors, write a thank you note letting the ones that

help us throughout the year know that we appreciate them. Have fun hopping from blog to

blog to see what we have created.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

I had some pcs left over from a workshop, so I tried to use as many as I could to make some cards with our Sparkle and Shine paper packet.

Close To My Heart is offering FREE tags to print for you gift giving.  Just go to CTMH.com, under promotions and find ReDiscover and you can print these beautiful tags. These will only be available this month.

Here is a quick favor idea, just cut out snowflakes with the Cricut, I used Art Philosophy and the snowflake stamp set D1480.  Glue dot a Hershey kiss and set it at everyone's plate.  You can add a tag with the person's name if you like.

Hop from my blog to Nicki's if you get lost just come back and follow the list below.

November Blog hop

Welcome to our monthly Joyful Stars blog hop. Follow along and hop to see the wonderful artwork my team and friends have created.  There is a list at the bottom of this post, so if you get lost, just come back to me for your next hop.

I made this tree inspired by our Holiday gift guide,

The rosettes were cut from the Artiste cricut cartridge on page 50, using the new Sparkle and Shine paper from the Holiday gift guide..  The are several patterns to choose from, I liked the one with the holes in it.  The neat thing about cutting them out with the Cricut is that they are already scored for you.  If you don't have a Cricut (yet) you can make these by just cutting strips and scoring them by hand.
The measurements are as follows:  11 layers
2 1/2"  3 pcs each bottom 2 layers
2 1/2"  2 pcs
2 1/4"  2pcs each x2
2"        2pcs each x2
1 3/4"  2pcs each x2
1 1/2"  2pcs each x2
When making them into a spiral use 1"&-2" circles top and bottom. You can make the rosettes different sizes by squeezing them together tighter or looser.  I used a dowel to hold them all together, so in the circles I punched a hole the same size as the dowel  and stacked them all together.  Leave a space between each layer.  I secured them with a glue gun.  The base was a round piece of styrofoam which I hot glued to the dowel. Top with snowflakes, stars, a Cricut shape with words, etc.and add glitter paper snowflakes all around the tree.

Now hop over to Krista's wonderful creation
